THE GLOBAL COMPETITION LAW CONFERENCE SESSION II : National and transnational Dynamics : The Interplay China’s Competition Law in the Global Competition [1] Xiaoye WANG Professor, Hunan University and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and consultant expert, Chinese Antimonopoly Commission 1. In 2004, I had the honour of writing the preface to the Chinese version of David’s book Law and Competition in Twentieth Century Europe. Once again, I am thrilled to be asked to write a preface to the Chinese version of David’s new book, Global Competition : Law, Markets and Globalisation, and to be given the opportunity to express my congratulations and share some of my own thoughts on this book. 2. It appears that two principal observations motivated David to research and write his new book.
