WEBINAR #1 Coronavirus crisis - The DG COMP’s response (State aid & Mergers)

Inaugural webinar of the "Quarantine Webinar Series" organised by Concurrences with Karl Soukup (Director of the State aid General Scrutiny and Enforcement’s Direction, DG COMP), and, Josep Carpi Badia (Head of the Mergers case support and policy’s Unit, DG COMP).

This inaugural webinar was organised by Concurrences as part of the "Quarantine Webinar Series" dedicated to DG COMP’s answers to the health and economic crisis. For this first session, Karl Soukup, DG COMP Director for State aid General Scrutiny and Enforcement, and, Josep Carpi Badia, DG COMP’s Head of the Unit "Mergers case support and policy", explained the challenges raised by the current crisis and discussed the measures taken by the Commission with regard to State aid and mergers. Due to the extensive presentation related to State aid and Mergers, an additional webinar dedicated to Antitrust with Maria Jaspers, DG COMP’s Head of the Antitrust case support and policy Unit and and Rainer Becker (Head of the Antitrust: Pharma and Health services Unit, DG COMP) has been organised on April 17th (documentation available here).
