1. Introduction 1.1 This Special Issue of e-Competitions contains a compilation of annotations of case law in relation to judicial review of State aid decisions. The cases concern a wide range of measures, including land transactions, guarantees, renewable energy levies, settlement agreements and tax rulings and cover many different sectors, including energy, public infrastructure, car manufacturing, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, aviation and professional football. 1.2 This Foreword picks up more or less from where the previous Foreword on this topic ended (in 2014).
