The EU Commission revises its communication on State aid and public service broadcasting

"The 2009 Broadcasting Communication"* On 2 July 2009 the Commission revised its 2001 Communication on State aid and public service broadcasting [1]. After three public consultations, the revised Communication clarifies the legal framework for the expansion of public service broadcasters onto new platforms, the legitimacy of theme channels and pay TV in public television and the arrangements for supervising the net cost principle.
