The French Competition Authority fines traditional road freight companies in the road haulage sector for the boycott of emerging digital platforms (H2P / B2PWeb / Evolutrans / Astre...)

The 21-D-21 [1] decision is one of the few decisions of the French Competition Authority, following the referral of the Minister of Economy, after a heavy investigation conducted by the GDCCFC (General Directorate for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs, and Fraud Control) with dawn raids in 2018. In its decision of 9 September 2021, the Authority de la Rue de l’Echelle punishes two firms (Holding Premium Professionnel and Bourse Premium Professionnel), two unions (UNOSTRA and OTRE), as well as several economic interest groups of transporters (Evolutrans, Association des transporteurs européens, France Lots Organisation, Tred Union et Groupement d’Achats et de Services des Transports), for agreeing to boycott new digital players, namely new entrants in the road transportation market
