A French Court of Appeal holds that article L. 442-6, I, 5 of the commercial code also applies to international business relations (Lauterbach, Logic Instrument)

A German company which had had its products distributed by the same operator in France since 1988 announced its intention to recuperate the French market by installing a subsidiary on the territory thereby terminating relations with the distributor. Aggrieved by the lack of sufficient notice of termination, the distributor filed a claim on the basis of Article L. 442-6, I, 5° of the Commercial Code.
