The Consistorial Israelite Association of Paris (ACIP in French) sent to retailers of casher products a circular having for object to forbid them, for non conformity in the ritual prescriptions of the Jewish religion, the marketing of guaranteed products by certain rabbis. One of them, considering himself as a victim of a boycott, introduced an action in justice to obtain repair of his damage. The Court of Appeal of Paris analyzes the conditions of certification of the casher character of foodstuffs. It finds that this one does not require the liberation of a specific diploma and that the certifiers perceive a proportional payment in the quantities subjected to their control and marketed under their label.
