Indian Competition Law Roundup: April-May 2020* In this Roundup, we highlight the main developments in Indian competition law in April and May 2020. The COVID-19 Response The CCI is Open for Business As stated in our April update on ‘Indian Competition Law and COVID-19’, the Competition Commision of India (CCI) has remained as open for business as it can in the circumstances. Although there was an effective stay on hearings and compliance with directions, the CCI is fully working from office and from home and has said that it will “endeavour to process new and pending cases subject to the availability of necessary information and material”. [1] Complaints about breaches of Section 3 (anti-competitive agreements) and Section 4 (abuse of dominant position) of the Competition Act, 2002
