The Italian Competition Authority applies for the first time the new leniency programme by granting complete exemption from fine (Produttori di pannelli truciolari in legno)

Four years after the Communication of the Commission on immunities and fines and after almost one year after its implementation in Italy, the Italian Antitrust Authority (IAA) applied the leniency programme for the first time : on 17 May 2007, the IAA decided not to fine the Trombini Group, a manufacturer of wood composite panels, for its decisive contribution to the discovery of the concerted practice among companies in the relevant market.
