Siemens / Dresser* In a nutshell The Commission was concerned that the acquisition of Dresser-Rand by Siemens would reduce the number of significant suppliers from 3 to 2 for rotating equipment in the oil and gas industry. The in-depth investigation showed that the parties' activities in gas and steam turbines were largely complementary and rarely competed against each other despite the high concentration of the industry. Interestingly, the phase II investigation showed that light industrial gas turbines provide an alternative to aeroderivative gas turbines. 1.
