On 16 July 2020, the French Competition Authority (“FCA”) imposed a € 93 million fine on twelve ham and cold meats manufacturers (Cooperl Arc Atlantique, Les Mousquetaires, Fleury Michon, Coop, Savencia, Campofrio, Aubret, Sonical, La Financiere du Haut Pays, CA Animation, Nestle, Salaison du Maconnais) for concerting to purchase ham from slaughterhouses at reduced prices and/or to fix prices for the cold meat products that they would then propose to mass-market retailers for their branded and economy products, contrary to Article L.420-1 of the French
