The Italian Competition Authority fines 15 shipping agents firms and two trade associations for a cartel at the port of Genoa (Servizi di Agenzia Marittima)

By a decision taken on 22 February 2012 the Italian Competition Authority (ICA) has fined 15 firms and two trade associations for taking part in a secret cartel having as object the fixing of the fees charged by the shipping agents of the port of Genoa [1]. The facts of the case In May 2010 the ICA started investigation against 15 shipping agents trading at the Port of Genoa - Agenzia Marittima Le Navi, APL Italia Agencies, Banchero Costa & C., China Shipping Italy Agency Co, CMA CGM Italy, Coscon Italy, Gastaldi & C, Hapag Lloyd Italy, K-Line Italia, Maersk Italia, Medov, Safmarine Italia, Paolo Scerni, Yang Ming Italy, Zim Italia- and the
