The Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission prohibits the incumbent’s “Double-Play” bundled offering of unlimited international calls taking into account a risk of a margin squeeze of its competitors (OTE)

Hellenic Telecommunications Organization S.A. (OTE) submitted to the Hellenic Telecommunications & Post Commission (EETT) for approval plans to offer a telephony/internet bundle offering broadband access and fixed telephony services. Customers purchasing the plan would pay a single price for a combination of broadband internet access at a speed of either 4 or 8 Mbps (‘DP4' or ‘DP8'); 60 free minutes of calls from fixed lines to mobile numbers; and, at an additional optional charge, unlimited international calls. EETT regulates the Greek telecommunications sector pursuant to Law 3431/2006, and imposes certain obligations on OTE due to OTE's status as an undertaking with significant market power as defined in the EU telecommunications framework.
