Ireland: The Competition Authority identifies Unnecessary Restrictions on the Supply of Family Doctors and publishes Report on General Medical Practitioners On 16 December 2009, the Irish Competition Authority published the first two parts of a threepart report into the market for primary medical care in Ireland. The published parts of the report deal with: (i) the removal of restrictions on advertising by general medical practitioners (GPs) in Ireland, and (ii) proposals to introduce a “fast-track” system of GP training for doctors with relevant prior training and experience.
