On 20 April 2023 the European Commission (“Commission”) adopted a package of new merger control review rules and procedures. These include (i) a new Implementing Regulation, (ii) a new Notice on Simplified Procedure and (iii) a Communication on the transmission of documents. The aim of these measures is to reduce the burden on parties notifying uncomplicated transactions that require only a cursory review, to broaden the categories of transactions that are eligible for this simplified
