Head of the Consumer Protection and Market Regulation

Graduated of Sciences Po Bordeaux (1987) and former ENA (promotion Marc Bloch, 1997), Pierre Chambu is the head of the Consumer Protection and Market Regulation Department at the French Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF). Prior to that, he was Deputy Secretary for Foreign Affairs in the cabinet of Mr. Roland Dumas, then Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1991-1993). After his training at ENA, he joined the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Successively, he became deputy to the Head of the "public procurement, building and public works, aeronautics" office (1997), then deputy to the head of the "general competition policy and anti-competitive practices" office at the DGCCRF (1997-2000). From 2001 to 2005 he has been seconded national expert as rapporteur at DG COMP. From 2005 to 2008, he served as head of the trade and crafts office (2005-2008), then head of the transport and communications office (2008-2011) and deputy director of services and networks at DGCCRF.
