

Noel Watson-Doig
Noel Watson-Doig has a broad range of experience in European and UK competition, state aid and public procurement law and has represented clients before the CMA, European Commission, OFCOM and Monitor. Noel’s areas of work include mergers, behavioural matters, competition investigations and public procurement, both advising on procurement processes and dealing with procurement challenges. He has sector experience in media, advertising, pharmaceuticals and healthcare. Noel previously worked as a competition lawyer for the British Broadcasting Corporation and BBC Worldwide, where he advised on a range of high-profile competition, regulatory and state aid issues, including for the London Olympics 2012. Noel’s interest in the TMT sector means that he is following the European Commission’s Digital Single Market initiative closely and he speaks and writes on this topic regularly- including on Bristows’ Cookie Jar microsite and CLIP Board blog. Noel is also experienced in healthcare competition law, having advised numerous private healthcare providers on competition, NHS trusts on mergers and NHS England on the procurement of health care services. Noel has spoken at numerous media and healthcare competition law conferences in London and Brussels and is a Contributing Author to “European Community Law of State Aid” Oxford University Press, First Edition.
