Milan Kristof

Milan Kristof is a référendaire (legal secretary) at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg in the chambers of Advocate-General Laila Medina. Since 2006, Milan Kristof has worked at the Court of Justice on a great number of competition law cases, but also on IP, jurisdiction and Internet, electronic communications, trade, regulation, international law, extraterritoriality, judicial review, rule of law and internal market law cases. Prior to that, Milan Kristof worked in antitrust at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Competition in Brussels and in Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. Milan Kristof is a contributor to the 7th and 8th editions of ‘Bellamy & Child : EU Law of Competition’ (Oxford University Press), where he covers inter alia the chapter on the review by the EU General Court and the appeals to the EU Court of Justice. Moreover, he writes analyses of national judgments involving EU law for Oxford Competition Law and is a co-author of the practitioner work on litigation ‘European Court Procedure : A practical guide’ (published in 2020 by Bloomsbury-Hart). Milan Kristof speaks regularly on competition law as well as IP law at the ABA Antitrust Meeting in Washington DC, at Fordham in New York, at the UIC John Marshall School of Law in Chicago, at the Antitrust West Coast conference in San Francisco and at the University of Cambridge, UK. Over the past eight years, Milan Kristof has given annual courses and workshops e.g. at the elite French national school for judges (Ecole nationale de la magistrature) in Bordeaux and on EU competition law at the Instituto de Estudios Bursatiles in Madrid. He has also given training to national judges for instance in Belgium, Germany, Bulgaria and Serbia.
