Marc Isabelle

Marc Isabelle, engineering graduate of Supélec and IFP School, PhD in economics, is the founder and director of european economics. Since 2007, he has been in charge of 46 individual notifications with detailed assessment to the European Commission of State aid for strategic projects that cover a broad range of industries (hydrogen, automobile, chemistry, biotech, software, energy & environment). These projects represent global expenditures of € 20.9 billion and global State aid amounting to € 6.0 billion. During his numerous interactions with DG Competition services and national public authorities, Marc has contributed in co-developing the tools and best practices regarding the detailed assessment of State aid compatibility. Before starting european economics in 2009, Marc has worked for more than 15 years in economic departments of large businesses and public agencies (Total, CEA, AII, Bpifrance). He has been teaching economics at Paris Dauphine University since 1996 and has published several research papers on the economics of science and innovation. He is a reviewer for the European State Aid Law Quarterly.
