Irene specialises on competition law with particular focus on the aviation industry. She assists clients before the European Commission and the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) in connection with merger control, horizontal agreements, abuse of dominant position and state aid proceedings. She also represents clients before EU and national courts in the context of antitrust private litigation and in proceedings for the annulment of antitrust fines. Prior to joining WFW in 2020, Irene worked for a leading international law firm, advising corporations on merger control, cartel investigations and competition law compliance. Irene has obtained a law degree from the University of Verona (magna cum laude) and an LL.M on EU law from the Universitè Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). She qualified as an Italian lawyer in 2006. In addition to Italian, she speaks English and French fluently.
