


Eshien Chong

Chief Economist
Eshien Chong has a doctorate in Economics (University of Paris-Sud 11), a DEA (Diploma of Advanced Studies) in Industrial Economics-Econometrics (University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne), and a Master’s in Economics (University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne). He started his career as a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Quantitative Techniques at the University of Paris-Sud 11 (2007-2012) and at the IAE in Paris (2012-2014). In 2015, he joined the Autorité de la concurrence, where he served for four years as permanent rapporteur (case officer) in the Chief Economist’s team. Since 2019, he had been been Chief Economist at the Hong Kong Competition Authority since 2019.
