

Clara Calini
Clara Calini is a senior member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Elisabetta Iossa at the Italian Competition Authority, and has previously worked as case handler responsible for numerous important investigations, most recently regarding the application of European and Italian competition rules to the energy, waste and fuel sectors. Before joining the Italian Competition Authority, she worked for several years as an associate in the antitrust groups of law firms Arnold & Porter (in Brussels) and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamiliton (in Rome), where she was involved in high-profile competition law cases “across the board” (i.e., mergers, antitrust and litigation). Clara holds a Ph.D. in Law & Economics at Luiss Guido Carli (Rome) and an LL.M. in European Law at the College of Europe (Bruges). She has written numerous articles in the field of competition law as well as an extensive manual on Italian antitrust procedure.
