Birth Panhans is a Head of Unit at DG COMP’s merger control policy and case support unit since 2018, having practiced competition law within DG COMP since 2012. Trained to be a fully-fledged German lawyer, Birthe also holds an LL.M. in international law as well as a degree in political science. Before joining the European Commission, she worked for the German Ministry for Economic Affairs.
