Becket McGrath is a partner at competition boutique Euclid Law, based in the London office. He is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an advocaat with the Dutch Bar of Brussels. He is also admitted as a solicitor in Ireland, on a non-practising basis. advises clients on all aspects of EU and UK competition law, with an emphasis on defending companies against agency investigations, counselling, compliance, competition litigation and merger control. Although he advises clients in a broad range of sectors, he has a particular interest in the media, technology, e-commerce and life sciences sectors, as well as the interface between intellectual property and competition law. He also represents companies in UK consumer protection proceedings, primarily in the technology sector.He has experience of enforcing UK and EU competition law at a senior level in the UK’s Office of Fair Trading (now the Competition and Markets Authority) and retains good links with enforcement agencies and
regulators in the UK and across the EU. Becket is a frequent commentator on legal developments and is on the Editorial Board of the publication Digital Business Lawyer. He is alos a UK non-governmental advisor to the International Competition Network. Becket is listed as a ‘thought leader’ in the latest Who’s Who Legal/Global Competition Review directory of leading competition lawyers and is also recommended by the Legal 500, which notes that he has “an academic approach and level of knowledge, yet adapts those skills to the client’s commercial needs”.
