Atreyee Sarkar is a Principal Associate in the competition law practice at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. She has advised and represented Indian and foreign companies on a variety of competition law issues in several sectors, including the petrochemicals, beer, mining equipment, e-commerce, logistics, information technology, telecommunications, cement, steel, aviation, oil and gas, energy, insurance and auto parts sectors. Atreyee has represented clients in several complex transactions, including several involving structural and behavioural remedies. On the enforcement front, she has defended multinational companies in several cartel and leniency cases, and regularly appears before the Competition Commission of India (CCI), the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), and the High Courts. Atreyee also advises clients on competition compliance, internal investigations, vertical agreements, and abuse of dominance issues. Atreyee obtained her specialized postgraduate degree (Bachelor of Civil Law) in Competition Law from the University of Oxford, and her bachelor degree in law from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. She also holds a B.A. (Honours) degree in Sociology from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi.
