António Neto is a consultant at Technopolis group. Previously, he was a Junior Competition Expert at the OECD Competition Division (2016-2020) where he worked on two Competition Assessment Projects (Iceland and Portugal). He also taught economics at the University of Porto, Portugal (2015-2016). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Porto, Portugal, and has published several academic papers and policy reports on economic growth, labour markets and competition. In June 2021, António Neto will join Technopolis UK as a consultant.

Although scholars have been debating how to define ’barriers to entry’ for decades, starting with Joe Bain in the late 1940s and 1950s, no single definition seems to have gained preference whether by analysts or competition practitioners
