Professor of Law

Anne Witt is currently a Professor of Law at EDHEC Business School, Augmented Law Institute, Lille. She gained her undergraduate law degree from the University of Freiburg in Germany and subsequently worked as a research and teaching fellow at the University of Jena Department of Law. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to attend the LLM programme at the University of Virginia School of Law. She did her professional legal training in Germany and is a fully qualified lawyer. She gained her PhD in the area of EU antitrust law from Kent Law School, where she worked as an associate lecturer between 2009 and 2012. Anne took up a Professor position at Leicester Law School in May 2012, where her main research and teaching interests lied in the areas of EU, UK and US antitrust law. In 2015, she was a visiting fellow at the European University Institute Department of Law, Florence, where she researched and wrote a monograph on the role of economic theory in EU antitrust law. This project was funded by a BA/Leverhulme small research grant. Anne was appointed an independent legal adviser for the provision of expert advice in the area of EU law to the European Parliament in 2017. Prior to her legal education, she studied piano at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève.
