


Ana Sofia Rodrigues
Ana Sofia Rodrigues was appointed Chief Economist and Head of the Studies and Market Monitoring Bureau of the Portuguese Competition Authority in October 2015, after a year as a Senior Competition Expert at the OECD Competition Division. Before that she held various positions at the Portuguese Competition Authority, where she started her career in Competition Policy in 2006 ; she was a senior economist at the Mergers Department and an economic advisor to the Board. Ana holds a PhD in Economics from the Department of Economics of the University of York (2008), where she did research in the field of dynamic industrial economics. During her research period, she was a teaching fellow at the University of York and a visiting research scholar at the Lebow College of Business, Drexel University, Philadelphia. Her main areas of interest are dynamic industrial economics and competition policy. She has worked extensively in competition issues in public procurement and various sectors such as energy, telecoms, banking and maritime transport.
