Ana Manzaneque a junior associate in the Competition & EU law team, based in Belgium. Her practice focuses on competition law, notably state aid matters and litigation before the European Courts. In addition to general competition matters, she has a particular focus on state aid issues and the Single Resolution Mechanism. She has gained litigation experience by assisting on the representation of the European Commission, the Single Resolution Board and a major UK airline on cases before the General Court. Before joining Bird & Bird in early 2019, she completed several internships in the competition departments of various international law firms in Brussels. She also gained legal experience through an internship at the Registry of the Court of Justice of the EU and by completing a Bluebook traineeship at the European Commission (Fiscal State Aid Unit). She is the Assistant Editor of the World Competition, Law and Economics Journal (Kluwer). She speaks Spanish, English and French and I have a good understanding of Italian.
