


Adrian Howes
Adrian Howes is Head of IP and Standards in Nokia’s IP Policy team. Adrian’s work at Nokia presently encompasses policy and regulation on IPR issues. This includes active involvement in cross-industry and regulatory discussions on IPR and its place in the next generation of communications technology and industry standards. He attends and advocates at IPR meetings at various international SDOs, such as the ITU and ETSI. He is also presently involved in discussions on the interaction between standards and free / open source software licensing in various fora. Prior to joining Nokia, Adrian worked as a senior litigation counsel at Mylan, a legal consultant for Sony Computer Entertainment and an associate in the IP department of Bird & Bird, where he worked on telecoms and other patent actions. He is an English qualified lawyer and studied chemistry and law at the universities of Durham and Cambridge, respectively.
