Geoffroy Van De Walle is of counsel for Jones Day in Brussels. His representations span across Europe at the national and EU levels, as well as in emerging economies. Geoffroy regularly assists clients with navigating cross-border merger control reviews, including complex investigations requiring divestitures. He also represents clients on all aspects of global cartels, abuse of dominance, and state aid investigations, including in appeal procedures before the courts. Geoffroy also advises companies on ensuring antitrust compliance and has organized a number of compliance programs and on-site training sessions for clients. He also helps clients to ensure compliance with antitrust rules in relation to distribution, licensing, and other commercial agreements. Prior to joining the Firm in 2015, Geoffroy was an antitrust associate at an international law firm in Brussels. He received his LL.M. from the New York University School of Law, where he was awarded the Frank T. Diersen prize for distinction in the LL.M. program and the Betty Bock prize for Competition Policy. Geoffroy regularly publishes articles and speaks on topics in the competition field.
