Vincent Verouden is a Director at E.CA Economics in Brussels/Berlin. His consulting activities span the fields of antitrust, merger control and state aid control. Until October 2014, he worked at the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission, most recently as Deputy Chief Economist. During his time at DG Competition, Vincent contributed to the economic analysis of numerous cases as well as to policy development, in particular the EU’s Horizontal Merger Guidelines (2004), the Non-Horizontal Merger Guidelines (2008), the sector inquiry into the pharmaceutical sector (2008-2009), and the State Aid Modernisation (2012-2014). Vincent received a PhD in economics from Tilburg University in 2001. He is an extramural fellow at TILEC (Tilburg Law and Economics Center), Tilburg University.
