Stephen Kinsella Obe heads the Sidley European Antitrust/Competition group and is co-leader of the firm’s global antitrust team. He has over 30 years experience of advising clients on all aspects of EU competition law with particular focus on cases in the media, technology and pharma sectors. Stephen has been involved in some of the highest profile EU competition cases of the past decades. Stephen is consistently ranked as a leading competition practitioner by Global Competition Review, Chambers Global, Legal 500 EMEA, IFLR1000 and other legal guides. Who’s Who Legal stated in 2012, “Stephen Kinsella is one of the most highly respected practitioners in the world. He is … ‘absolutely encyclopedic on all facets of competition law’.” Stephen is past chair of the IBA Competition and Trade Committee and past co-chair of the International Committee of the ABA Antitrust Section. He is also past editor of IBA’s Competition Law International and founding editor of GCR’s Guide to Vertical Restraints. In 2002, Stephen was awarded an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen for services to British commercial interests in Belgium.
