Ms Sophia Vandergrift serves as an Attorney at the United States Federal Trade Commission in the Bureau of Competition in the Mergers IV Division. In this role she performs merger review and enforcement, most often in the hospital and retail industries. Before being assigned to the FTC she joined as an Associate the lawyer firm Paul Hastings in London and became member of the Antitrust and Global Competition Group ; she served on team defending merger investigation, including preparing CID document and interrogatory responses, conducting witness interviews, and preparing lead drafts for white papers ; sole associate on team representing one of the world’s largest electronics multinationals bringing merger complaint in technology sector ; assisted with overcharge recovery lawsuit under UK law ; sole associate assisting with representation of an important environmental and scientific industry association, including taking lead role representing client at board and other governance meetings.
