


Richard Murgatroyd
Richard Murgatroyd is a Partner with RBB Economics and is based RBB’s London and Johannesburg office. He joined RBB in 2004 and has been a Partner since 2011. During this time Richard has led RBB Economics teams on wide range of competition law investigations and litigations, across a variety of jurisdictions. Richard is regularly identified as an expert in the field of competition economics in practitioner guides such as Who’s Who Legal and Expert Guides. Richard has a broad range of experience, spanning mergers, abuses of dominance, anticompetitive agreements and market investigations. He has advised clients on such matters before the European Commission, various European national authorities and many African national authorities. Richard also has significant experience in the application of competition economics to private litigation, damages estimation and regulatory disputes. He has acted as an expert witness on more than 25 occasions, and given expert witness testimony under cross examination many times, before high courts, specialist tribunals and arbitration panels.
