Following a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics, Ricardo Cardoso de Andrade was awarded an MA in European Studies from King’s College London. He then worked for three years in financial services, at both UBS Warburg and Ernst & Young. In 2005, he worked at the European Commission within the Energy Unit of the Directorate-General for Competition. He was first involved in the energy sector inquiry, where he was responsible for the issues of natural gas pricing and gas-oil indexation. More recently, he has been working in regulatory issues and antitrust cases in the natural gas sector. He is, since June 2022, working at the Directorate General GROW of the European Commission.
