Peter Møllgaard is Professor of Industrial Organization and since 2005 Head of the Department of Economics at Copenhagen Business School where he has been teaching since 1996. His principal area of research is the application of industrial economics to competition policy. He has done research on horizontal and vertical coordination, technology transfer, mergers, damage claims, state aid and services of general economic interest. He has been involved in the governance of a number of associations, including the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics (EARIE), the Association for Competition Economics (ACE), and the Danish Society for Competition Law. He is affiliated with the Centre for Competition Policy (UEA) and ENCORE. In addition to extensive consulting experience, he has served as an expert witness in several court cases in relation to competition damages and was a deputy of the Danish Competition Council (1998-2001). Since 2005 he has been a board member of Energinet.dk, the Danish TSO for electricity and gas. He has served on two government committees leading to changes in competition legislation. Peter holds an MSc Econ degree from the University of Copenhagen and a Ph.D. from the European University Institute, Florence.
