Martina Maier is currently on sabbatical and preparing the next steps. She was previously the Chief Compliance Officer at Siemens (Brussels). Prior to that, she was General Counsel at Unilever and previously, a partner in the international law firm of McDermott Will & Emery, based in the Brussels office. She headed the firm’s European Antitrust and Competition Practice Group. Ms Maier’s practice focuses on German and European competition law, including State aid, single firm conduct, merger control and agreements restricting competition. She has extensive experience in representing clients before the European Commission, national competition authorities and European courts. Martina is recommended by numerous publications and legal directories such as, Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, the JUVE Handbook of German Commercial Law Firms, the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers and European Legal Experts. She is also featured in Global Competition Review’s Leading Women in Antitrust and Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Women in Business Law.
