Kevin C. McCann is General Counsel for SHI International, one of North America’s top 15 largest IT solutions providers. In this capacity, his ambit is broad, including analyzing, evaluating, and implementing legal aspects of strategic investments and divestitures ; structuring and negotiating substantial corporate transactions ; reviewing and analyzing IT licensing, distribution, customer, and vendor agreements ; and providing advice regarding competition, trade secret, intellectual property, and compliance issues. Prior to joining SHI, he practiced as a Lawyer with Paul Hastings law firm, across a broad range of complex business litigation, principally representing defendants in antitrust, unfair competition, trade secret, patent and commercial disputes. He has specific experience with respect to such disputes in the biotechnology industry and has taken responsibility for all aspects of trial and appellate proceedings in federal courts throughout the United States, in California state courts, and in a variety of international arbitral forums. KevinMcCann joined Paul Hastings with several of his colleagues from the complex litigation boutique of Lasky, Haas & Cohler, Professional Corporation. Kevin McCann is a graduate of Carroll College in Helena, Montana, A.B., maxima cum laude, 1982, and Harvard Law School, J.D., 1985. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
