Dr. Jurian Langer works in the European Law section of the legal department of the Foreign Office in the Netherlands. Before joining the Foreign Office, he was an attorney at Stek (Amsterdam) and Stibbe (Amsterdam and Brussels) where he practiced and litigated mainly in general EC law and competition law. He also worked for DG Competition of the European Commission. He holds a PhD from the European University Institute, and an LLM from University College London and a specialised degree in law and economics from the University of Hamburg and the University of Rotterdam. He teaches EU law at the University of Amsterdam and is a contributing editor for a leading Dutch magazine on competition law.
