Mr. Harun Gündüz is a Counsel at ELIG Gürkaynak Attorneys-at-Law. Having graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Law in 2003, Harun received his LL.M. degree in Competition Law from King’s College London in 2012 and an MA degree in Administrative Law from Ankara University in 2013. For the last 16 years, since 2005 and before joining ELIG Gürkaynak, Harun has been successfully serving at the Turkish Competition Authority, most recently as the Chief Legal Counsel of the Turkish Competition Authority, for many years. At the Turkish Competition Authority, he has led numerous preliminary and full-fledged investigation cases along with the merger control aspects of M&A deals in various sectors as a competition specialist and then as a chief competition specialist. Subsequently, he worked as the head of department at the Strategy Development, Regulation and Budget Department, and subsequently, as the Chief Legal Counsel of the Authority. In addition to his extensive experience in competition law matters, Harun has written a book on the Turkish Competition Authority’s enforcement record in its initial 20-years enforcement period. Besides his theses on competition law matters, he published numerous articles in national and international journals, and he is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
