Graeme is a lawyer in our Competition and Regulation Group. He provides trade practices, competition and regulatory advice to clients in a range of industries including utilities, media and aviation. Graeme has advised and acted in Australian Competition Tribunal proceedings in relation to access to monopoly infrastructure. Graeme has particular anti-trust enforcement experience having acted for a number of major domestic and international clients under investigation by the ACCC for alleged breaches of the TPA, including price fixing, misuse of market power and resale price maintenance. This work has included : handling responses to statutory demands for information and documents ; drafting submissions in response to investigatory inquiries ; where appropriate, making applications for amnesty under the ACCC’s immunity policy for cartel conduct and coordinating regional applications with other Asia-Pacific competition authorities ; and successfully defending proceedings brought by the ACCC and private parties. Graeme also has substantial general litigation experience and, while at Gilbert + Tobin, has advised and acted for clients on a broad range of commercial disputes involving media, administrative, corporations and contract law. Graeme is involved in the firm’s pro bono practice where he has provided advice on victim compensation, discrimination and immigration issues. Prior to joining the firm, Graeme worked as associate to Justice Branson in the Federal Court of Australia. He has qualifications in both law and political science (First Class Honours) from the University of New South Wales.
