Eric Morgan de Rivery is a partner at Jones Day. He specializes in EC and French competition law. He advises on all aspects of EC legislation and state aids. He has considerable experience in cartel cases, abuses of dominant positions, and other proceedings before the European Commission, including merger control. Since the early 1980s he has advised companies on deregulation in various fields, including the postal sector, telecommunications, air transport, and energy markets. After graduating from Harvard, he worked with U.S., U.K., and French law firms in New York and Paris and also served a traineeship with the DG Competition of the European Commission. For the past decade he has divided his time between Brussels and Paris. Eric regularly acts in cases before the European Commission and in judicial review and appellate cases before the Court of First Instance and the Court of Justice of the EC in all areas of EC law. He also represents clients before the French courts and the French Competition Council. Eric is ranked yearly by PLC Which lawyer ? as one of the top five competition lawyers in France and by Chambers Global as a leading individual in competition and antitrust law. He is fluent in English and is the author of numerous articles on EC law.
