Head of Task Force Third-Country Subsidies
Christof is the Head of Task Force Third-Country Subsidies at DG COMP since 2020, where he works on legal instruments that could address the issues related to foreign subsidies. After graduating with a PhD in Economics from the University of Freiburg, he has worked for the European Commission in several DGs since 2000. He was previously the Deputy Head of Unit for State aid control in energy between 2012 and 2019, in charge of developing and implementing EEAG 2014-2020 and leading the sector inquiry on capacity mechanisms.
