Baskaran Balasingham is an assistant professor at Utrecht University since January 2021. Baskaran Balasinghamholds a PhD in Law and was visiting tutor at the Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London. He holds a BA, LLB and LLM from Maastricht University, the Netherlands. After completing an LLM in competition law at King’s College London in 2009, he was a trainee in the cartels division of DG COMP. He began his research at King’s under the supervision of Professors Alison Jones and Richard Whish in autumn 2011. His doctoral research is funded by the Centre of European Law, King’s College London. His PhD topic focuses on the legitimacy of the EU Leniency Notice in light of private and criminal enforcement.
