Asghar Zardkoohi is the T.J. Barlow professor of business administration in the Department of Management at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University (US). He received his Ph.D. in economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Dr. Zardkoohi’s research and teaching interests are in the areas of organizational architecture, corporate governance, business and public policy, industrial organization, financial intermediaries, and law and economics. His current research interests are in organizational commitment and turnover, decision making under uncertainty, escalation of commitment, frequency of reporting financial outcomes, performance evaluation, and compensation. Dr. Zardkoohi’s research has appeared in a variety of academic journals including American Economic Review ; Journal of Finance ; Journal of Law and Economics ; Northwestern Law Review ; Economic Inquiry ; Journal of Banking and Finance ; Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization ; Harvard Journal on Legislation ; Strategic Management Journal ; and Academy of Management Review. Professor Zardkoohi is a regular guest professor at EDHEC Business School (France). He has received research grants from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the American Banking Association, AT&T, and the Small Business Administration. He has won the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University Distinguished Teaching Award, Research Award, and the MBA Program Best Teacher Award. He is a research fellow at Texas A&M University’s Private Enterprise Research Center.
