Adam Cooper

Head of Sustainable Energy Policy

Adam has worked for Ofgem for two years, and was appointed to his current role in January 2013. Previously, he led a team responsible for the analysis of the business plans of the four GB electricity and gas transmission licensees as part of the RIIO-T1 price controls. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young, Adam worked as a consultant in the firm’s Centre for Business Knowledge. He then moved to a corporate strategy role at Abbey National, working on business re-organisation, strategic planning and M&A projects. Before joining Ofgem, he was Deputy Director of Financial Analysis at the Competition Commission, working on a number of cases including market investigations into local bus services, mergers in a wide range of industries, and regulatory appeals relating to mobile call termination charges and Bristol Water’s PR09 determination.
