The transaction will bring together Rupert Murdoch’s global media company, News Corp - which owns one of the major Hollywood studios (20th Century Fox), TV channels (such as Fox and National Geographic), and print and online newspapers (such as The Sun, The Times, The Wall Street Journal) - and BSkyB, the leading pay-TV broadcaster in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
