This book brings together the contributions made on the occasion of the twelfth annual conference of the European Competition Law Association of national judges, chaired by Ms Jacqueline Riffault-Silk, Dean of the Commercial Chamber of the French Court of Cassation. Four cross-cutting themes are first dealt with: the control of the decisions of the Commission and of the regulatory authorities exercising a power of sanction; the place of the fundamental rights of the Commission as seen from the inside and analysed by Alexander Italianer, then Director General of DG Competition (since then, new Secretary General of the Commission); the rights of parties concerned by an investigation of the Luxembourg Competition Council; and the application to competition law of the standards of protection resulting from the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. In addition, a number of national reports provide an update on the state of competition law in Germany, France, Greece, Italy and Luxembourg.
