This book provides a critical analysis of some emerging issues in the area of standards of protection applicable to undertakings in competition law proceedings before the European Commission, including negotiated procedures. Based on an in-depth examination of European case law drawn from the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the Union and the European Convention on Human Rights, and of their real and concrete effects, it summarizes the lessons learned by the author at the Graduate Institute of International Studies during the academic year 2015-2016.
